Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how the Ichud 5786 (איחוד תשפ''ו) website (https://ichud5786.com) and its companion Android app (together, the “Service”) collect, use, and protect your information. The Service provides the official directory of chassanim (grooms) and simchos for the Ichud community, lets members view the latest listings, and sends notifications about new entries.
Information We Collect
- Google account information. When you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and basic profile information through Google Sign-In. We use this only to identify you and to authorize access to member features.
- Notification token. If you allow notifications in the Android app, we collect a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token so we can send you update notifications. The token does not identify you personally.
- Basic usage and log data. Like most websites and apps, our servers automatically record limited technical information (such as app version and request metadata) to keep the Service running, secure, and up to date.
We do not request access to your contacts, photos, location, or any Google data beyond the sign-in information described above.
How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and provide access to member features.
- To display the directory of chassanim and simchos.
- To send you notifications about new listings (only if you opt in).
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your information is not shared with third parties except for the infrastructure providers that operate the Service on our behalf (Google Firebase / Google Cloud for authentication, push notifications, and hosting, and Cloudflare for content delivery). These providers process data only to deliver the Service, or where required by law.
Data Retention
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the Service. Notification tokens are removed when they expire or when you disable notifications or uninstall the app. You may ask us to delete your account information at any time (see “Contact” below).
Data Security
Sign-in is handled through Google’s secure OAuth flow, and data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. While no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for members of the community and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
